In short. The SDR Signal Analyzer app makes no internet connections and sends nothing anywhere. This website may keep visit statistics via Google Analytics — but only after you press "Accept" in the banner. The site does not write messages from the contact form to files or a database — they are forwarded straight to our mailbox as e-mail.
This document covers two separate things: the SDR Signal Analyzer application that you install on your computer, and this website. They handle data differently, so they are described separately.
Part 1. The application
SDR Signal Analyzer does not collect, store on any server, share or sell any personal data.
- No network access. The app makes no internet connections. It does not send telemetry, crash reports, usage statistics or any other data anywhere.
- No accounts. There is no sign-in and no registration.
- Files stay on your computer.
- Settings and calibration data are written to Documents\SDR Signal Analyzer. If the app fails, or cannot draw the spectrum (for example without OpenGL 3.3), it writes an error report (sdrsa-crash.json) to the same folder; the app never sends it anywhere, and you may delete it at any time.
- IQ recordings are written only when you start a recording yourself, to C:\sdrsa-rec.
- The Qt framework keeps a cache of the compiled user interface under %LOCALAPPDATA%\SDRSA; it contains no personal data.
- The app shows the settings and recordings folders on first start and in Help > About.
- Services of Windows itself, not of the app. If your Documents folder is synced by OneDrive (or another sync service), the files the app writes there are synced by that service under its own settings. Windows Error Reporting may collect information about an application crash according to your Windows diagnostic data settings; the app neither triggers nor receives these reports.
- Radio data. Signals received with your radio hardware are processed on your computer and saved only when you start a recording yourself.
- Hardware identifiers. The app does not read any hardware identifiers of your computer (board or disk serial numbers, system UUID). Builds published between 2026-10-06 and 2026-10-19 showed a "Code of this computer" in Help > About, built from fingerprints of such identifiers, for ordering SDR SA PRO; since 2026-10-19 that code is shown only by SDR SA PRO itself, a separate product with its own privacy policy.
- If you send us the code. A code of this kind is needed only to order SDR SA PRO, a separate paid product, and SDR SA PRO shows it to you. If you e-mail it to us, we keep it together with your name and e-mail address in our register of licences and use it only to issue and support your licence. You may ask us to delete it at any time: support@sdrsa.net.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics.
Uninstalling the app deletes neither Documents\SDR Signal Analyzer nor C:\sdrsa-rec, so your calibration and recordings are not lost; delete these folders yourself if you no longer need them.

Part 2. This website
Hosting
The site and our mail are hosted by GoDaddy. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs — IP address, time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and browser details — as well as an error log. These logs are kept for as long as the hosting keeps them. We consult them only to diagnose faults and protect the site from abuse, and we do not link them to individuals.
Country and language
- To restrict access to the site from certain regions, the server matches the visitor's IP address against a country database. The check runs on the site's hosting server against a local copy of the database — the address is not sent anywhere, and the site itself does not record the result (the hosting access log, as for any request, shows only the server's response — see "Hosting"). The database is provided by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0 license).
- To open the home page in the right language straight away, the server looks at the language set in your browser. This applies only to the home page, and only when you arrive there from another site. This information is not stored.
- If you switch language yourself with the "UA" / "EN" buttons or a link to the other language version, your browser remembers the choice in a cookie named sdrsa_lang for up to one year (some browsers, such as Safari, keep such cookies for less). It contains only the language code — uk or en. The server reads it to open the home page in that language next time, and uses it for nothing else. Without such a switch, no cookie is set.
Analytics
This site may have Google Analytics 4 enabled, to see which pages are read and where visitors come from.
- When analytics is enabled, you will see a consent banner on your first visit. Until you press "Accept", no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set.
- If you press "No analytics", it stays off.
- Google Analytics sets a cookie with a random identifier (_ga) in your browser to tell repeat visits apart. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store visitors' IP addresses.
- Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key sdrsa-analytics-consent. It is a technical record and never leaves your device. To revoke the choice, clear this site's data in your browser.
- When analytics is enabled, Google acts as a separate controller — see the Google privacy policy.
Contact form
When you submit the form on the home page, your name (if you gave one), your e-mail address and your message are sent to our server and forwarded straight away by e-mail to support@sdrsa.net.
- The site does not write the message to files or a database. It is kept as an ordinary e-mail in our support@sdrsa.net mailbox — which is hosted on the same GoDaddy hosting — until we delete it. We use it only to reply to you.
- Like any mail server, ours keeps a delivery log: time, sender and recipient addresses, and the subject line. The subject contains your name, or your e-mail address if you gave no name.
- To protect against spam, the server records a hash of your IP address together with the time of sending, to limit messages from one address to five an hour. The counter itself does not store the IP address in plain form; the hosting access log does, as for any request (see "Hosting"). Each entry stops counting after an hour, and the file of entries is deleted once no message has come from your address for an hour, the next time anyone submits the form. The hash guards against accidental disclosure; it is not full anonymisation — there are few enough IP addresses that it could in principle be matched back to one.
- The form contains a hidden trap field for bots. People do not see it; if it is filled in, the message is not sent.
What is not here
- no advertising or ad networks;
- no social media buttons or widgets that track you;
- no sale or sharing of data with third parties;
- no profiling or automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects on you. The only automatic steps are the country check and the home-page language choice described above.
Your rights
You may withdraw your consent to analytics at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and you may ask us what data about you we hold, to correct or erase it, and object to its processing. If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may complain to the data protection authority of your country. Since we keep no accounts, normally the only thing we could hold is your correspondence with us.
Questions: support@sdrsa.net.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the document. Substantial changes will be announced visibly on the home page.
